WorldpayPayments Authentication 3DS 2.1 & 2.2 compliance.
The Assignment
Due to an unplanned long-term illness of their Director, Authentication Services Worldpay required a payments expert to deliver the changes required to achieve compliance with PSD2 and including 3DS 2.1 & 2.2.
Our Involvement
We assigned a Senior Payments Consultant to cover a 12-month absence and work with key internal stakeholders, payment schemes and industry regulators to deliver a fully compliant authentication service.
Our Approach
The consultant conducted an analysis to identify where the client’s products and services were impacted by PSD2 obligations for 3DS 2.1 & 2.2 including Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) including Dynamic Linking, 3RI, De-coupled & Delegated Authentications and Whitelisting.
He then provided an advisory service to a team of 5 Product Managers and guided the design and development of the compliance effort which included 2 new features addressing recurring payments and whitelisting.
Our Clients Results
The new features once delivered exceeded the requirements of the brief by not only meeting the compliance requirements but also adding 2 additional revenue streams. Due to COVID, the deployment was delayed by over a year, but it is understood that the 2 new revenue streams totalled over £500k in the first 12 months.
