NETSPayment Platform Transformation.
The Assignment
After several mergers and acquisitions in the preceding years, Nets found itself with multiple payments platforms. This caused inefficiencies throughout the business which impacted the level of quality of service provided to Nets customers. Nets formulated a plan to consolidate the main Platforms migrate all customers and decommission the redundant platforms.
Our Involvement
Consulting Smart was appointed to oversee the execution of the first phase of the programme which was to set up a product function, create the vision, strategy and proposal for the platform transformation to the “UNI Platform”.
Our Approach
Our Payments Consultant set up several work packagers to create a modern product function using the Agile (SAFe) method, establish a suite of products to be supported by the UNI Platform, introduce an SDLC including automated testing & CICD and a set of collateral for promoting migration to a single platform.
He also led a series of information-sharing sessions to key customers to begin the process of preparing the path to the UNI Platform. Some of those customers joined a steering group to feed requirements and timelines to influence the roadmap.
Our Clients Results
The client was able to retain 5 dissatisfied customers after the information sharing as they were happy to have their preferences considered. The platform consolidation delivered €190k of efficiency savings in the first year across several business units. The next phase of the programme was able to begin early giving it a greater chance of success.
