Citizens Card Scheme Launch.

The Assignment

Consulting Smart were approached by another leading smartcard consultancy to help prepare a tender response for the launch of the first phase of the The London Borough of Waltham Forest citizens card scheme the “OneCard”

The response was successful and Consulting Smart were asked to project manage the implementation of Phase 1 “Cash Collection and Staff ID and Access”.

Our Involvement

Our most senior and experienced consultant took responsibility for the solution design & build and implementation.

Our Approach

The consultant arranged stakeholder meeting and set up a Prince 2 structure. A detailed requirements capture exercise was completed and then a series of process reengineering workshops conducted.

A series of supplier meetings were arranged to select the best team of suppliers. The Consultant then negotiated discounts with suppliers to ensure the project remained within budget. The solution was then built to plan and as per the requirements using a Mifare 4k contactless card.

Our Clients Results

The OneCard was delivered to budget and on time. Additional benefits were identified which enable full Return On Investment inside 30 month as opposed to the predicted 3 years. The card was well received by the citizens who put the council under pressure to quickly add more services.
