Gateway consolidation and product rationalisation.

AEVI was underperforming against their strategic goals of growing its market share and achieving unicorn status. They sought external support to set up a product function with a view to simplifying the gateway offering and introducing new payment methods to their offering.

Our Involvement

A Principal Payments Consultant from Consulting Smart joined the AEVI Executive Leadership Team and took responsibility for setting up a payments function and creating new payment methods capability which was joined up across the organisation.

 

 

Our Approach

Our consultant designed a suite of products that would better meet the market needs and drive revenue. He then created a team structure and agreed on a hiring budget to build a team to achieve the objectives of implementing new payment methods. He then built the team and began to develop omnichannel and softPOS solutions whilst adding new features to existing products.

Our Clients Results

The client reduced costs by almost £240k per Annum. Increased speed to market by 50%. Attracted 3 new customers with a projected £4.2m over 3 years. Had an efficient effective team of product professionals taking a customer-first approach. Finally, AEVI was a winner at the Payments Awards 2021 for Best in-store Payments Solution.
